A Cat in every Corner
"We hope your book will be successful".
Brigitte Bardot Foundation
"The very best of luck with your book". Rolf Harris
A Cat in Every Corner relates the
founding of the sanctuary by Pat Clements, a retired school teacher and
freelance journalist.
The entire book was produced by sponsorship with all contributors donating
their services thereby allowing the entire proceeds to go directly for
the welfare of the animals.
There are laughter and tears, sickness and health, highs and lows, hopes
and fears. Never a dull moment, the book is hard to put down and gives
the reader an excellent insight to this kind of work which, whilst rewarding,
is not the life many imagine it to be.
Review:
"If you like animal stories this
is the book for you - Reminds me of James Herriot's encounters with furry
and feathered friends! (Not just cats!). Pat tells of all the day to day
events within the animal sanctuary and as the book has been published
free of charge, every penny raised by the book goes back to paying for
the ongoing work at the sanctuary which is just outside Carmarthen in
South Wales. Debbie's illustrations compliment the animal tales well.
I give it 5 stars and I can't think of a better way of spending a lazy
sunday afternoon than curled up on the sofa with "A Cat in Every Corner".
Chris Jones from London, UK - A truly wonderful read!"

Sticky Dewi
Not about animals,
but instead a fascinating and often humorous account of life inside Japanese
POW camps during World War 2.

Amazon 5 Star Review:
"This book is somewhat of a surprise.
At first, I thought it would be similar to other books, retelling of the
events that took place during World War II. It is, however, different
from other books I have read about that time in history. The book relates
interesting happenings to POW's of the Japanese - and made me surprisingly
laugh! At times I found I felt guilty for laughing but then realised that
this laughter was what actually kept those men going and, sometimes, helped
them to keep their sanity. Sticky Dewi is about human nature at its very
best. it is about man helping man - men who have never met before (in
most cases) and yet throughout some terrible ordeals these men stood
side by side and laughed and cried together. Contributors to the book
have been found by the author from all over the world. The spirit of these
men should never be underestimated. Sticky Dewi is a very good read -
for those knowledgeable about World War II and for those with little knowledge.
My son of 13 has read this book and I think it is important that young
people should be informed about history in this way. He, too, enjoyed
the book greatly and has continued to research this subject in the hope
of increasing his understanding of what happened. A thoroughly good read."
